Gasification of Waste Tires

Gasification is a thermochemical pathways used to convert carbonaceous feedstock into syngas (CO and H2) in deprived oxygen environment. The process can accommodate conventional feedstock such as coal as well as discarded waste including plastics, rubber, and even MSW due to the high reactor temperature of 1000 to 1600oC. Pyrolysis is another conversion pathway yet it is more selective to the c...

Economic and Environmental Evaluation of Waste to Energy through Gasification; Case study: Tehran

In spite of the past few decades, gasification of waste is being used in the developed countries. Reducing the space for landfill sites, producing fuel from waste, as well as avoiding negative impacts of landfilling, are of advantages of gasification. The research was aimed at feasibility study of application of Tehran municipal solid waste (MSW) gasification in addition to understanding the wa...

Mathematical Model of Biomass Product Using Gasification Reactor

The aim of this study is to design a new mathematical model biomass product with the help of the gasification reactor. This design will help in describing most of the internal parameters inside this process. This research also aims to study and analyze the kinetic reaction, mass and heat transfer for four zones of the gasification reactor. It has been found that the char concentration from ...

Thermo-gravimetric Analysis (TGA) of combustion and gasification of Styrene-Butadiene Copolymer (SBR)

An investigation has been initiated to determine the effects of various atmospheres (6.9% 02iN2, 21 % 02iN2 (air), 30% 02iN2, 3% H2iN2 and pure N2) on the efficiency of gasifying or combusting rubber waste to produce synthesis gas or generate steam or power. This paper reports on the findings from a series of TGA experiments at various heating rates on styrene-butadiene copolymer (SBR), which i...
